Projects in my hand and on my mind

So, i still haven't restarted the panel on my project. I look at unraveling it with woe. It took me a while to crochet it, and now I have to take it apart and redo it. I can't imagine what it must feel like for people who spend so much time knitting something like a sweater and having to take it apart because the proportions weren't right. Ugh. I just have to suck it up and do it.

On a plus note, I did go and buy the extra skein that i needed. So, the only thing stopping me is the redoing of the first panel.

In other news, my friend Jared and his wife, Lisa, are due to have a baby ANY DAY NOW. They don't know boy or girl, but I bought a few colors of baby yarn, so I can make something once they do find out. I'm so excited for them. It's their first. We'll see what inspiration I get once the little person joins us.

That's all for now. I promise I'll get up the nerve to take apart the panel and actually finish this project. The bag will come together!

What is it to rip and frog?

So. I'm working on a slit-top felted bag. The pattern comes out of the Chicks giude. I made the first panel, got to the end and realized I didn't have as many stitches across as I was supposed to. Somewhere I dropped one. Rats! Well, I figured I would make the second panel and it would even out (I know, I'm lazy). Well, I didn't drop one on that side. And what's more, I ran out of the yarn I need. Apparently the yardage listed in the pattern wasn't enough. *sigh* Now I have to go buy ANOTHER skein of the same yarn to finish. I think I'm going to end up undoing the first panel and redoing it to the desired specifications. Oops! I think that called ripping and frogging. I could be wrong. I'm still getting used to the slang of this new adoptive community.

On another note, a couple of my coworkers knit. We were thinking of possibly forming a group for the love of knitting/crocheting. I think it will be a lot of fun if we can put it together. I won't share the name, as it is too awesome and I don't want to jinx it. If possible, we want to set it up on ravelry.com Then others could join too if they wanted! Anyway, we'll see. It'll be fun to share the hobby with others.

Welcome to my Kraftsy Blog!

Welcome! I hope to use this blog to share my kraftsy-ness with you all. I do suffer from craft ADD. I've done cross-stitching, crocheting, knitting, and scrapbooking. I tend to start projects, get bored or distrac - Oh! Shiny! My point exactly.

So it is with much pride that I announce: I'm sticking with something! I've been crocheting again for a month now and, forgive the pun, I'm "hooked!" I joined ravelry.com and I'm digging the organization and community spirit. I'm really looking forward to getting "kraftsy" again. And hey, it's just in time for the holidays too.

will make every effort to post pics of the projects I have finished or in the process of making. I also wanted to use this space to vent frustrations. So, here goes!
